there’s a small group of men that meet at my house every monday evening for Bible study. it always amazes me how conversations can so easily go from one thing to another so quickly. somehow last night spence, jon, and i got on our favorite fonts. yeah – fonts. that thing is, we really got into that conversation. the two other guys just looked at us like we were the biggest nerds in the world…and they’re engineers! seriously. and just because i know you want to know:

my favorite fonts right now:
helvetica neue (esp. light & ultra light)
century gothic

special shout out for helping me get to this point:
arial rounded mt bold
trebuchet

and let’s face it: everyoen has used comic sans in their life because they thought it was cool. many have realized that it’s not. mayeb today is your day to just let it go and move on.

i’m a sucker for great commercials. in my opinion the Sony Bravia commercials are some the best i’ve seen – perhaps ever (no hyperbole intended). i don’t often do the corporate shout out, but here it is. block out a few minutes and watch these. that kid inside you will thank you.

i’m spending this afternoon at one of my favorite places – Grigg’s Coffee. not only do they have killer coffee roasted on site, but also free wi-fi, a fantastic atmosphere, and butter toffee cashews (so good). the past few months i’ve been trying to be more intentional about setting aside uninterrupted creative time, which is kind of weird since i do think of myself as a pretty creative person. one of the huge things i’ve been learning though, is that creativity is best when it’s not rushed. sure, being under the gun can birth inspiration, but creativity is best when it has a chance to actually develop from the original inspiration.

so here i am, armed with my myndology disc notebook, macbook, and coffee – and working out the creative elements for the last FUSE[midweek] series for the spring. starting tomorrow, our last series will be a five weeker called 5enses. we’ll be looking at a different human sense each week and see how we can experience Jesus specifically through each. it kicks off tomorrow with :sound:
