simplicity and the house

A little home update. Bethany and I signed our end of a house contract yesterday, finally. It’s been a crazy few weeks; I think we’ve walked through about 15 total houses so far. As tiring and despairing as it can be (“why can’t we just find one?”), every house helped us solidify a bit more just what we were looking for, and what things were negotiable/non-negotiable. That same feeling out of negotiable/non-negotiable is pretty much the same things that’s been happening with me ministry-wise here in Williamsport, too.

Stepping into a new ministry always takes time to figure everything…and in actuality, I’m stepping into three new ministry positions. Our church is in a state of simplifying things, based off the the book Simple Church by Thom Rainer and Eric Geiger. Figuring out what are the better things for a ministry or church is vital to the health and effectiveness of that ministry.

So if things move along as they should, we should be moving into our first home in a month. Awesome.
